1996 Chevrolet Corvette LT4/Z51

SOLD: This One Got Away!

No, it's not a 2020 LT4. In 1996 GM wanted to send the last C4 off with something special. You could get an LT4 with a 6-Speed manual for 1 year and 1 year only. Why does this matter? Well in 1997 the first LS1 Corvette rolled off the assembly line with 330 rwhp. The console on a LT4 car says 350 hp but the car actually put 360 to the ground. Yep, this car is faster than a first LS1 cars and way more rare.
It's not a Grand Sport! Well... ok but what is it? Technically, if you ordered a Grand Sport in 1996 it was blue with white stripes. I didn’t want a blue Corvette. I wanted a black one. You could order an LT4 and not get the blue Grand Sport paint. You got the engine, the transmission, the gearing, the brakes, the seat, the badging and when the Z51 option was added you got more than a grand sport. When ordering parts you have to get Grand Sports parts. So while you are correct it is not a Grand Sport. It is easier to just call it a black Grand Sport.
What is wrong with the car? Nothing. I don’t know why that is everyones first question. I fix all know issues before selling a car. The tires were flat spotted so I put 4 brand new Continental Extremes on it. The battery was weak so I put a new battery in it. 6 years ago the intake leaked like all LT1 and LT4 cars. I replaced the intake gaskets. No more leaks. Power steering pump failed a few year ago, I put a Top One pump in with beaded lines. The clutch is good. There is nothing wrong with car. Im sure you can find something that isnt perfect but that is how you put your touch on it.
I see a few chips in the paint? Well yah, it is 26 years old. This is not a show car. I am not a car collector. I am a car lover. I drive my cars. I never wanted a collector car. As you can see the paint shines up like new. I use good products. There is some sun fading. There are some ships. There is a chip in the edge of the door. So what, drive it. I feel original paint is way more specially then a flawless repaint.
The interior looks a little older? Again it is all original except stereo and fire extinguisher. There are no tears or burns. There are no missing pieces. Someone did put some wear on the driver seat and the rear carpet has shrunk like it does in all C4s. The speaker box hides that. I removed it just to show you. That brings us to the stereo. There is a 5 channel amp in the rear cargo area. The Kenwood deck has apple car play and all speakers were upgrade. The sub can simple be unplugged and lifted out as desired.
I have taken wonderful care of this car and still love this car. Ive moved on to Porsches and need the room in my garage for my Cayman S.
