Sadly, the days of $1999 are long gone. At least when it comes to a reliable, safe, straight car. I know, I know your friends neighbor has a car for $400 it only needs $7500 in repairs. Go get it... For the real world this is a very affordable and smart option. Transmission is shifting great. Engine sounds like it should. Tires are good. It isn't the cleanest but then it is priced accordingly. Yes, I would have let my 16 yr old daughter drive this car. It should be great for transportation for someone on a budget.
