Yes, Cummins engines do fail once in a while. I don't have any details as to what happened. Head gasket blew 100 miles after I bought it. Block was warped and a piston was bad. We had the bottom end rebuilt and then replaced the head with a 2017 style head. Yes, it has been swapped to adjustable lifters. The 2017 head is better and more reliable. This swap will run you $12k alone if done correctly. Emissions equipment has been removed. We all know that is likely the cause of the original failure. Basically, you are getting a 2017 with a 2019 body. Best of both. Honestly, this truck is better than any new STOCK Diesel on the market. If you don't agree, you don't actually work your diesels. Go buy a new one and don't call me when in dies. For the rest of the working class this is the diesel you want.
